Dreams of My Homeland

Dreams of My Homeland (DOMH) is a global nonprofit organization serving refugees in Lexington, KY. The founders of DOMH were forced by war to leave their homeland. DOMH works to provide quality education, clean water, and food resources to the Kinsevere community in the DRC. DOMH needed a strong identity design for their school of 550 students and educators.

Taking inspiration from the local environment of Lubumbashi, growth, and education I worked with their team to build a full identity was built to help DOMH to expand its outreach across the board.

Society of Ink & Paper

Society of Ink & Paper is a student-led organization designed to encourage and cultivate an artistic practice outside of assigned material. The group began in 2015 with the intention of connecting disciplines of artists over the medium of ink and paper.

We took on the task of organizing workshops every month. For each workshop, we created a visual identity using the methods and materials that would be taught and explored at the individual events.

Mainx24 Event Branding

Mainx24 is a community event that encapsulates the Chattanooga culture and all of the music, food, and small businesses that it is made of. The city is a hub for all kinds of music, meaning that concerts, album releases, and merch are never in shortage. The event needed an exciting identity to catch the eyes of residents and tourists alike. Without making a consistent plug-and-play format and using some analog processes, the identity remains exciting and new, while showing hints of my personal design style.

I developed the Mainx24 identity to invite the community to participate in something that they may not have been involved in before.

Chattanooga Zine Fest

Chattanooga’s Zine Fest began to develop a space for local creatives to sell and make work. Zines have always been an important part of local culture, providing a catalyst for information flow, self-expression, and connection between people through a physical medium. The 7th local Zine Fest identity was built with hand lettering, lots of scans, and an identity built through analog processes.

I developed an identity for the event and helped with the launch of visual materials and products.

Confected Landscapes by Lori Larusso

Confected Landscapes is a collection of artworks by Lori Larusso, accompanied by writings by four additional Kentucky-based writers. The goal was to make something that was trustworthy, developing a book to envelop the complex and untraditional processes and content of Larusso’s work. Her work, an expansive array of shape and content, allowed for exciting and explorational layouts and treatments. The printed book has an exciting but accessible format, with the inclusion of vellum sheets and a non-traditional layout. The design adds to but doesn’t overshadow the work, acting as an environment for the work to live in. The book can be purchased here.

I worked with Lori Larusso to build a book to envelop the complex and untraditional processes and content of Larusso’s work.
